Pune, May 11, 2026: This year’s edition of the annual Venkatesh Chapalgaonkar Memorial Lecture, which is being jointly organized by the Pune Shramik Patrakar Sangh and Friends of Venkatesh shall take place at 11:00am on Saturday, May 16th at Pune Shramik Patrakar Sangh, Navi Peth, Pune.
Milind Khandekar, a respectable figure from the journalism fraternity who is currently working as the Managing Editor of ‘Tak Channels’ of India Today Group will deliver the lecture on the topic “Age of AI: Should Journalists ne Worried or Feel Empowered?”.
Milind Khadekar is associated with the Indian news television industry since the past three. He is currently serving as the Managing editor at TAK channels of (India Today group. Tak Channels is regarded as one of India’s largest digital platforms for news with several popular regional initiatives like ‘Mumbai Tak’ in Marathi. He presents ‘Saptahik Sabha’, a weekly political show on News Tak.
Previously, he was the digital editor for BBC India and played key role not only in scaling up the BBC but also in expanding BBC’s Indian language service’s digital presence in India. He made significant contribution in ABP News network’s (previously Star News) TV and digital platforms including ABP Majha in Marathi and ABP Ananda in Bengali.
Khandekar started his journalism career with Navbharat Times in 992-93. He was a fellow at world renowned Columbia University’s ‘Salzburger Executive Leadership Programme’ and writes his weekly blog Hisab Kitab on digital platforms like LinkedIn where he shares his thoughts on various trends including AI.
Venkatesh Chapalgaonkar, a dynamic and fearless journalist of ABP Majha died in a car accident in 2009 while covering the LS Elections. Since then every year this lecture is organized in his memory by his friends and the Pune Shramik Patrakar Sangha.
Veteran journalists like Arnab Goswami, Siddharth Varadrajan, Rajdeep Sardesai, Neeraja Chaudhari, Girish Kuber, Kumar Ketkar and Dhanya Rajendran have delivered lectures on various topics during this Venkatesh Chapalgaokar Memorial Lecture Series in the past.
