Pune Vidhan Sabha Polls: Preparations Underway For Voting Machines In Pimpri Ahead Of November 20 Assembly Election
Preparations for voting machines (EVMs and VVPATs) have begun today, November 13, 2024, in the Pimpri Assembly constituency for the upcoming Assembly elections on November 20. A total of 477 ballot units, 477 control units, and 517 VVPAT machines have been provided by the District Collector’s office. These will cover the 398 polling stations across the Pimpri (SC) constituency, where 15 candidates are contesting. Each polling station is allocated one ballot unit, one control unit, and one VVPAT, with additional units kept in reserve.
The machine setup process will run from November 13 to November 14, 2024, and involves 135 officials across 45 tables, including sector officers, master trainers, and assistants. Tasks include machine allocation, sealing, data entry, reporting, and replacement of any faulty units. A dedicated team of 10 officers and 45 staff members is handling these procedures.
Election Officer Archana Yadav has informed all candidates and political parties of these arrangements. Additionally, coordinators Jayaraj Deshmukh and Prashant Shimpi, media coordinator Vijay Bhojne, and various assistant officers have been appointed to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.
