Pune: Wagholi Traffic Police Introduces Innovative Solution To Tackle Congestion
In a bid to streamline traffic flow and improve commuter safety, the Wagholi Traffic Police have launched an innovative initiative to control traffic congestion on Pune-Nagar road. The police have installed loudspeakers at the main intersection of Wagholi to inform citizens and motorists about traffic updates and rules.
This unique concept has already shown promising results, with traffic congestion easing significantly since its implementation. The speakers, initially installed at Kesnand phata Chowk, have enabled policemen to control traffic by giving instructions through the microphone. This initiative has not only helped to alleviate traffic congestion but also enforced driver discipline at congested junctions.
Speaking to Pune Pulse, API Gajanan Jadhav shared, “We have initiated this unique strategy to manage traffic, and it has shown promising results. We urge citizens to commit to following all traffic guidelines and rules. The idea behind this strategy was to use speakers to make drivers more cautious and mindful of traffic regulations. This approach has significantly helped in reducing traffic congestion at Wagholi.”
The success of this initiative has prompted the authorities to install speakers at additional locations, including Avhalwadi Phata Chowk. With this innovative solution, the Wagholi Traffic Police aim to provide a safer and more efficient commute for residents and motorists.
This effort is particularly significant, given the long-standing traffic woes faced by Wagholi residents. Despite being part of the Pune Municipal Corporation for over six years, the area has continued to struggle with traffic congestion.The police’s innovative approach is a welcome step towards addressing this issue and improving the overall commuting experience in Wagholi.
