Pune: Wakad Shopkeeper Booked For Selling Fake Branded Clothes Worth ₹2.6 Lakh
A shopkeeper in Wakad has been booked for allegedly selling counterfeit clothes of prominent brands. The action was taken on Tuesday (December 3) around 5 PM at Chhatrapati Chowk, Kaspatte Wasti, Wakad.
The accused has been identified as Arun Naresh Sharma (38), a resident of Wakad. Mahendra Singh (37) from Kasba Peth, Pune, filed a complaint against Sharma at the Wakad Police Station.
According to the police, Arun Sharma ran a clothing store named “Casuals” in Kaspatte Wasti, Wakad. He was found selling jeans and T-shirts with fake labels of renowned brands like Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, Peter England, and Van Heusen.
The brands, upon learning about the counterfeit sales, informed the police, leading to the seizure of fake clothing worth ₹2,63,230. The Wakad police have registered the case and are investigating further.
