Wakad, Pimpri Chinchwad – Residents of Vedanta Housing Society in Wakad have raised urgent concerns over the increasing presence of stray dogs in their locality, which they say poses a significant threat to the safety of school-going children and senior citizens.

Dr. Somnath Dhonde, Chairman of Vedanta CHS, voiced the community’s distress, stating, “This is becoming a dangerous situation. We urge the municipal authorities to take prompt and humane action to address the stray dog issue and ensure the safety of our community.”

The society’s residents are calling for the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) to implement structured and long-term measures such as the relocation of stray dogs to designated shelters, as well as regular vaccination and sterilization drives. They believe that such steps would not only control the stray dog population but also safeguard public health.
