Pune: Warje Residents Wake Up To Vandalized Vehicles, Police Hunt For Culprits
In a shocking incident, three unidentified men went on a vandalism spree in the Gokul Pathar area of Warje, damaging 15 vehicles, including trucks, autorickshaws, and cars, in the early hours of Sunday.
The incident came to light around 5 am when local residents discovered the damage. The Warje police have recovered CCTV footage showing the three men throwing stones at vehicles and are trying to identify them and have received some information about their whereabouts.
The damaged vehicles belong to lower-middle-class families, including those used by schools or as public service vehicles. The suspects used stones picked up from roadside areas to vandalize the vehicles.
The police have started the process of registering an FIR against the suspects and have formed teams to track them down. The motive behind the damage remains unclear, but police suspect it may have been done “for fun”.
This incident comes on the heels of a similar vandalism incident in the Lohegaon and Dhanori areas on Saturday, where two minors were detained for damaging nine vehicles.
