Pune: Water Supply to Remain Shut in Aundh, Baner, Erandwane and Several Other Areas on June 5
Pune, June 4: Residents in several parts of Pune will face a complete water supply shutdown on Thursday, June 5, as the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) undertakes a major pipeline connection project.
According to the PMC Water Supply Department, the work involves connecting a key water pipeline to the Gokhalenagar reservoir to strengthen the city’s water distribution network. As a result, water supply will remain suspended throughout the day in multiple localities across Pune.
The areas affected by the shutdown include Gokhalenagar, Aundh, Bopodi, Pune University area, Law College Road, Baner Road, Bhosalenagar, Senapati Bapat Road, Bhandarkar Road, Prabhat Road, Paud Road, Shilavihar, Bhimnagar, Vedantnagari, Kulshri Colony, Sahavas Society area, Karishma Society area, DP Road, Mayur Colony, Karve Road, the stretch from Dashabhuja Ganpati to Nal Stop, Sahakar Vasahat, Bharatnagar, Erandwane, Bharti Kunj, Chavan Nagar, Yuko Bank Colony, Mangalwar Hospital area, Himali Society, Vakilnagar, and parts of Navsahyadri and Warje.
PMC has also announced water supply disruptions in areas falling under the Chatushrungi water distribution zone. These include Aundh, Bopodi, Bhide Basti, Chikhalwadi, Khadki, Anand Park, Sainikwadi, Ambedkar Vasahat, Sankalp Park, Sakal Nagar, Chavan Nagar, Abhimanshree Society, Sindh Society and Aundhgaon.
The impact of the maintenance work is expected to extend to parts of the Pimpri-Chinchwad region as well. Water supply may be affected in Pimpri-Chinchwad, Bhosari, Dehu Road, Kasarwadi, Nigdi, CME, R&D establishments, Dighi, the VSNL area, Cantonment Board limits and OFDR localities.
PMC officials have warned that water pressure may remain low even after the work is completed, with normal supply likely to resume gradually on Friday, June 6. Residents have been advised to store adequate water in advance and use it judiciously during the disruption period.
