Pune Weather : Heavy rains lash Pune, trees fall at 12 locations
Heavy downpour lashed Pune city even today evening which resulted in tree falling incidents at many places in the city. A total of 12 tree falling incidents were reported. Bibvewadi, Erandwane, Ganj Oeth, Taljai, Talab Factory, Kondhwa, Lulla Nagar, Dhankawadi Gaothan, Katraj and Manikbaug reported incidents of tree falling. At many places in Sinhagad and SNDT four wheelers and two wheelers were damaged due to the gusty winds and heavy downpour. There were no reports of injury in the incidents.
The Indian Meteorological Department, Mumbai at 1915 Hrs IST dated April 15, 2023 issued an advisory regarding the weather. It stated, “Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and moderate spells of rain with gusty winds reaching 40-50 kmph very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Nashik, Pune, Ahmednagar during next 3-4 hours. Take precautions while moving out.”
