Weather Update: Thunderstorm With Lightning and Light Spell Of Rain In Pune
Pune region is predicted to be showered with light to moderate rain on 24th September (Sunday).
As per further information from Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Pune, On Sunday also, monsoon will remain active to vigorous over our State. In Pune, forecast is light to moderate rain (with yellow alert only for ghat region for isolated heavy rain). In Pune city, the number of clouds will increase in afternoon/evening hours, further increasing the chance of rain.”
Earlier, the IMD Pune had predicted that about 4.5 cm of rainfall has been recorded at Lohegaon and about 5 cm of rainfall in the past 12 hours in Chinchwad. Heavy rains hit the city between 2 pm and 2.30 pm on September 23rd.
The rains were caused by cyclonic winds over south Madhya Maharashtra and surrounding areas and tropical conditions from northeast Madhya Pradesh to central southwest Bihar. The rains are expected to be very heavy on the 24th and 25th September.
