PUNE: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that Pune will experience moderate rainfall and overcast weather until August 4. In the last 24 hours, Shivajinagar, Lohegaon, and Chinchwad received 0.6mm, 0.4mm, and 0.5mm of rain, respectively.

Following heavy rainfall in the past week, reservoirs in the region have seen a considerable increase in water levels. However, the current decrease in rainfall can be attributed to the weakening of systems over southern Chhattisgarh and Odisha, the northward migration of the monsoon trough, and the southerly movement of the shear zone.

As a result, Madhya Maharashtra, including Vidarbha, Marathwada, and Pune districts, is likely to experience lower precipitation in the upcoming days. The Konkan region, on the other hand, is expected to maintain its current amount of rainfall activity. The IMD official also mentioned that hilly areas in the district may experience isolated heavy rainfall in the next few days. While some stations recorded rainfall ranging from 0.2mm to 5mm, Mahabaleshwar reported a substantial 52mm of rain in the previous 24 hours.
