PUNE: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has reported a surge in the intensity of the low-pressure system in the Bay of Bengal. The low-pressure area has now shifted to the North East Bengal Sea, while the tropical cyclone over the Arabian Sea, affecting the Maharashtra region, is also gaining strength. Consequently, an orange alert has been issued for Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra, and Goa, as these areas are expected to experience intensified rainfall.

The forecast indicates that Konkan and Goa will witness rain across most regions, with the likelihood of strong coastal winds. Meanwhile, in Madhya Maharashtra, light rainfall is expected, with heavier rains anticipated in the Ghats.

This situation is being closely monitored by the authorities as the combined impact of these weather systems may result in significant rainfall and potential disruptions in the affected regions. The orange alert signifies that residents and authorities in the mentioned areas should be prepared for adverse weather conditions and take necessary precautions to ensure safety.

Citizens are advised to stay updated with the latest weather advisories from IMD and local authorities to make informed decisions regarding travel and outdoor activities during this period of heightened weather activity.
