Pune : In the next two to three days, the city is expected to get colder, as per the India Meteorological Department (IMD). This change in weather is mainly due to the cold winds from the north affecting the Madhya Maharashtra region.

A senior official mentioned that the northerly wind and clear sky will likely cause a drop in minimum temperatures by two to three degrees Celsius in the city and other parts of the state in the coming days.

Currently, a trough line extends across the state from North Vidarbha to South Karnataka, and increased humidity over the Konkan and nearby regions is attributed to upper air circulation.

The IMD forecast predicts clear skies and dry weather in Pune for the next 72 hours. Some areas experienced fog on Sunday morning, and the city recorded its lowest temperature of the season in Shivajinagar on January 16 at 10.8°C.

The official also noted that haze is expected to persist in the city until the morning of January 23. The minimum temperature is likely to stay between 12 and 13 degrees Celsius until January 27.
