Pune: On October 27, the temperature is predicted to remain at a minimum level in Pune city.
Speaking to Pune Pulse, Dr. Anupam Kashyapi, Head, Weather Forecasting Division, IMD Pune said, “The average temperature in Pune city on October 26 (Thursday) was recorded at around 17 Degree Celsius. On October 27, the temperature is likely to remain the same in the city.”
Dr. Kashyapi further added that the Jalgaon area recorded the lowest temperature in Maharashtra on October 26 at 11 Degree Celsius.
Kashyapi further explained that a clear sky contributes to the minimum temperature drop by allowing heat to escape from the earth’s surface. During the day, the sun warms the surface of the earth. When the sky is clear, more heat escapes to the surface of the Earth. At night, the Earth cools by emitting heat. In a clear sky, there is no heat to block the Earth’s surface, resulting in a faster temperature drop at night.
According to the IMD, the low temperatures are due to the clear sky and dry weather conditions. In addition, the marginally north-easterly wind from northern India is shifting to the easterly direction over the state which is leading to a drop in the night temperature. Minimum temperatures are predicted to stay around these levels for the next couple of days.
