Pune: Woman Doctor Killed In Undri Truck Accident, Citizens Demand Action On Rising Heavy Vehicle Threat
A tragic accident occurred in Undri’s Kanade Nagar on Wednesday, where a speeding truck collided with a two-wheeler, resulting in the death of a woman rider on the spot. The accident took place when the woman biker was on her way to the school to pick up her child.
The deceased has been identified as Dr. Pranali Tanmay Date (34), a resident of Urban Nest Society, Undri. Around 12:30 PM, Dr. Date was riding towards Handewadi when a speeding truck hit her from behind. She fell on the road, and the truck’s wheels ran over her head, causing her immediate death.
The truck driver, Pandurang Balbhim Bhosale (35), a native of Tuljapur, Dharashiv, fled the scene but was later arrested using CCTV footage, as confirmed by Police Sub-Inspector Anil Nimbalkar from the Kalepadal Police Station.
The accident took place near Mayuri Weigh Bridge corner on Undri Saswad road. The locals emphasized the urgent need for administrative measures to control heavy vehicle movement.
