Pune: Young Woman Injured While Climbing Down Tung Fort Near Maval
A young woman from Mumbai suffered serious injuries while descending from Balekilla at Tung Fort in Maval on Sunday afternoon. The incident took place during a weekend trek to Tung Fort with colleagues from Mumbai. While descending from the fort, she slipped and fell down the slopes, resulting in severe injuries to her feet.
The companions of the young woman immediately sought help from local authorities. Volunteers from Sahyadri Foundation responded promptly to their distress call and assisted in bringing the woman down on a stretcher. She received initial medical treatment at the fort itself before being transferred to a nearby hospital for further care.
In such situations, several organizations have established contact points at forts for prompt assistance. The woman’s colleagues contacted these points for help and thereafter volunteers from Sahyadri Foundation brought her down on a stretcher. After being brought down with the help of the footrest of the fort, the girl was taken to hospital.
