In a shocking turn of events, a delivery boy was assaulted and shot at in Ozone Villas Society on Lohegaon Road, Wagholi. The victim, a pizza delivery person, had gone to the society to fulfill an order placed through the Zomato app. This incident has sent shockwaves through the community.

A case has been registered against Chetan Vasant Padwal, a 27-year-old resident of Ozone Village Society in Wagholi. He has been charged with attempted culpable homicide and has since been taken into custody. Padwal, who is involved in his family’s crusher business, is the alleged perpetrator in this disturbing incident.

The victim, a 22-year-old named Tarun, is employed as an Associate Manager at a local Domino’s Pizza shop located in Anster Society, Wagheshwar Chowk, Wagholi. On the night of the incident, around 10:30 PM, Chetan Padwal had placed an order for Domino’s Pizza using the Zomato app. The order was meant for Tarun’s shop. Two delivery boys, Rahul Ghorpade and Rishikesh Annapurne, were dispatched to make the delivery.

Upon their arrival at Chetan Padwal’s residence at approximately 11:00 PM, they were met with a hostile reception. Padwal berated and physically abused the delivery personnel for the perceived delay in the delivery. Annapurne was physically assaulted, and when Tarun attempted to intervene, Padwal confronted him, grabbing his collar and demanding to know why they had come.

The situation quickly escalated as Padwal fled to his vehicle parked nearby. He retrieved a pistol, loaded it, and fired a single shot into the air. The prosecution alleges that Padwal knowingly and recklessly endangered lives by discharging the firearm in a residential area.

Sub-Inspector Suraj Gore is currently leading the ongoing investigation into this shocking incident. The incident has raised concerns about the safety of delivery personnel and the need for addressing such violent confrontations within communities.
