Pune | February 11, 2026: The Kondhwa–Yeolewadi Regional Office, through its Health and Solid Waste Management Department, has taken strict action against illegal garbage burning in the Pisoli area of Pune.

According to officials, a large quantity of waste was found being burnt at Survey No. 23, Nimbalkar Vasti, Pisoli. The incident was identified during routine inspections carried out by the civic department as part of its ongoing efforts to control pollution and improve public health standards in residential areas.

Following the inspection, the authorities imposed an administrative penalty of ₹25,000 on the concerned parties for violating environmental and municipal regulations. Officials stated that burning garbage not only violates civic laws but also poses serious risks to public health and the environment due to toxic smoke and air pollution.

The Health and Solid Waste Management Department said such actions contribute to respiratory illnesses, environmental degradation, and increased fire hazards in densely populated localities. The department has reiterated that strict enforcement measures will continue across the region to prevent such violations.

Civic officials have issued a clear public warning that burning of garbage is strictly prohibited and punishable under the law. Residents have been urged to follow proper waste disposal practices and cooperate with municipal authorities in maintaining cleanliness and environmental safety.

The Kondhwa–Yeolewadi Regional Office stated that similar inspections and enforcement drives will be conducted regularly, and stern action will be taken against anyone found violating waste management rules in the future.
