Pune: In addition to providing much-needed respite from humid days, Friday’s showers raised the city’s air quality from the ‘moderate’ category to ‘satisfactory.’

As per further information, at 88 μgm-3 and 55 μgm-3, respectively, the PM10 and PM2.5 levels fell below the uppermost allowable limits.

Days passed while Pune City struggled with air pollution, which was made worse by rising pollution levels and humidity. Rainfall was 27.5 mm in Shivaji Nagar, 45 mm in Pashan, 44 mm in Koregaon Park, 38.5 mm in Vadgaon Sheri, 32.5 mm in Chinchwad, and 15 mm in Lohegaon.

The southeasterly winds continued to bring moisture to south-central Maharashtra, according to an official from IMD Pune. Apart from Goa, Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri, Kolhapur, Satara, Sangli, and Solapur, isolated thunderstorms and light rain were predicted. Pune experienced heavy rains on Friday. On the other hand, starting on Saturday night, there will be a significant decrease in the amount of rain and a drop in nighttime temperatures beginning November 11.

For vendors and shoppers celebrating Diwali, especially those who have set up firecracker stalls, the rain was a depressant.
