Pune’s Shravani Katke won silver in the Taijijian category and two bronze medals in the Taijiquan and Group Events at the 30th Senior National Wushu Championship held at Bhopal Madhya Pradesh.

Omkar Pawar of Pune won a bronze medal in the 56kg category in the Sansu category. Maharashtra team wins bronze medal in team category

The competition was inaugurated by Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra. Wushu Association of India President Bhupendra Singh Bajwa, CEO Suhel Ahmed and All Maharashtra Wushu Association General Secretary and Maharashtra Olympic Association Executive Member Sopan Katke and other officials were present on the occasion.

A total of 44 teams participated in the competition, including teams of Army, Air Force, BSF, ITBP, SSB and Police besides all states and Union Territories of India. Deepak Bissen has coached the Maharashtra team while Mahesh Indapuri has served as the manager.

Tripti Chandwadkar, Kalyani Joshi, Shravani Katke, Khushi Telkar, Snehal Badskar, Vaibhav Patil, Nikhil Jadhav, Kunal Kodre, Atharva Modak, Rajmalhar Vatkar won bronze medals in the team category. All the players practice under the guidance of Sopan Katke in Pune.
