Sanjay Jagtap, Member of Legislative Assembly representing the Purandar constituency, has brought attention to the pressing issues faced by residents of merged villages. His call to action urges the State government and local authorities to prioritize essential services such as water supply, drainage, cleanliness, and fair property tax assessments.

The Purandar constituency, encompassing 15 of the 34 merged villages under the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), is grappling with inadequate infrastructure despite residents contributing significantly through property taxes. The lack of basic amenities like water supply and proper drainage not only affects the residents’ quality of life but also poses health hazards.

Jagtap’s advocacy underscores the disparity between the taxes paid by residents and the services they receive. Despite residing in affluent areas, many villagers are forced to rely on water tankers for their daily needs, highlighting the urgency for comprehensive solutions to address these longstanding issues. None of the civic authority in the area has taken up the task to provide the services to the citizens.
