Raigad Landslide : NDRF Team’s Rescue Operation Halted : To Continue Tomorrow Morning

A devastating landslide struck Irshalwadi, Khalapur, District Raigad today morning. The incident took 16 lives and left many injured. In response, 4 teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), led by S B Singh, Commandant 5NDRF Pune, worked tirelessly throughout the day. Despite the relentless efforts, the operation had to be halted due to continuous heavy rainfall and the looming threat of further landslides during night time.

In consultation with the Local Administration, it was decided to suspend operations for the night, with plans to resume at 0500 Hrs the next morning. So far, 21 individuals have been successfully rescued and 16 bodies recovered including 6 Male, 6 Female and 4 children (2M+2F). The rescue mission will continue at first light.
