Pune : The Railway division has completed the work of doubling the route on the 7.64-kilometre stretch between the Nira-Lonand section of the Pune-Miraj Railway.

As per information, after the completion of doubling of the Nira-Lonand 7.64 km section along with a successful speed test of 117 kmph, Manoj Kumar, Commissioner of Railway Safety, approved the certification for new railway track traffic after inspection on October 22. Chief Administrative Officer Vivek Kumar was also present during the inspection.

Central Railway has completed 137.67 km of multi-tracking (railway track doubling/3rd/4th line/new line) works in the current financial year from April 2023 till date.

Following are the details of the work:

· Total Length – 279.05 km

· Complete Dualization Complete – 174.85 km (62.65%)

· Project Cost – Rs 4882.53 Crore

· Expenditure to date – Rs 3200 crores (65.53%)

What has been done so far:

· Work progress – 86%

· Land acquisition complete – 97.04 hectare/115 hectare (84.38%)

Completed Section:

· 174.78 km (62.65%)

Ø Pune – Shindawane

Ø Amble – Adarki

Ø Palshi – Jarandeshwar

Ø Satara – Koregaon

Ø Sangli – Shenoli

The following sections are nearing completion (preferably within this financial year):

· 73.70 km (26.41%)

Ø Palshi – Adarki

Ø Satara-Jarandeshwar

Ø Shenoli – Targaon

Ø Sangli – Miraj

Works in Progress:

· 30.50 km (10.86%)

· Amble – Shindawane

· Targaon – Koregaon

Completed Works:

· Earthwork – 2.85 crore cum/3.29 crore cum (86%)

· Blanketing – 17 Lcum/36.5 Lcum (47%)

· Major pool – 57/75 (76%)

· Road Under Railway Line pool/RUB – 365/484 (75%)

· Road Over Railway Line pool/ROB – 7/10 (70%)

· Tunnels – 2.6/3

Ø Safale – Adarki 274-meter tunnel completed

Ø Adarki – Vathar 169-meter tunnel completed

Ø Amble – Shindawane 110-meter tunnel work is in progress

· Length of tunnel work completed – 475/553 meters (86%)

· Station Building – 29/32

· Track linking – 200 km/280 km

· Signaling Electronic Interlocking – 22/32 Stations

· OHE Electrification – 151/280 km

Completion of this dualization will improve the movement of trains on the busy Pune-Miraj route and reduce congestion.
