The Railway Police in Kerala have taken swift action by registering a case on a beggar following an attack on a Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) aboard the Jan Shatabdi Express this morning.

The incident occurred when a man, who was reportedly begging on the train, assaulted the TTE after being asked to show a ticket. The altercation took place as the train was departing from Thiruvananthapuram Central station on its journey to Kannur.

The complaint was lodged by TTE Jason Thomas, and the case has been registered for physical assault and obstruction of work. According to the FIR, the beggar physically assaulted the TTE when approached.

Eyewitnesses recounted that TTE Jaison Thomas instructed the accused, who was seated near the train door, to disembark at the station. However, the accused refused to comply with the instructions and proceeded to attack the TTE. During the confrontation, the accused scratched Jaison’s face before jumping from the moving train.

As a result of the assault, Jaison sustained a minor cut near his left eye and sought medical attention at a nearby hospital.

The Railway Police have initiated an investigation into the incident, utilizing CCTV footage and other available evidence to apprehend the culprit and ensure justice is served.
