As Raj Thackeray was returning to Mumbai after concluding the ‘Natya Sammelan’ program in Pimpri Chinchwad, he encountered a massive traffic jam at the Khalapur toll booth with thousands of cars standing in queues. 

Expressing his displeasure at the situation, Thackeray, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief, stepped out of his car and vented his anger on to the toll officials. Thackeray, signaling his discontent, demanded the toll booth management to allow the vehicles to pass, citing queues stretching for five kilometers.

Raj Thackeray directly stepped onto the road and forced the toll road administration to allow the vehicles to pass. He cleared the way for the ambulance which was in the rush of vehicles near Khalapur toll booth and ordered vehicles to pass after arriving at Khalapur toll booth. 

Raj Thackeray asked the toll booth managers to do this by quoting the rules. Dada Bhuse had promised that if the queue goes beyond the yellow line at the toll booth the vehicles will be released without toll. Raj Thackeray has expressed displeasure as it is not being implemented.

The MNS activists may go aggressive and ask vehicles to leave without toll if there is a queue of vehicles ahead of the yellow line from tomorrow

MNS leader Avinash Abhyankar said that even though there were five kilometre long queues at Khalapur toll booth, toll collection was going on. MNS will take an aggressive stance if rules are not implemented at toll booths.
