Raj Kumar Thappa, the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) of Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir, lost his life early Saturday morning after a shell fired from across the border struck his residence. Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed deep sorrow over the loss, highlighting Thappa’s recent involvement in high-level administrative duties. “Just yesterday, he was accompanying the Deputy CM during a visit to Rajouri and later attended an online meeting that I chaired,” Abdullah said in a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). “Today, we lost a dedicated officer as his home was struck during the shelling. I’m shocked and heartbroken. May his soul rest in peace.”
