Mahesh Landge, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Bhosari constituency has demanded that a government holiday should be announced in Maharashtra on January 22, 2024, i.e. Ram Mandir inauguration day.

Landge said, “Lord Ram is the symbol of Hinduism, Hindu identity and masculinity. Crores of Indians who have faith in Lord Ram will celebrate Diwali on January 22, 2024. Preparations for the inauguration have been made all over the country. The festival should be celebrated in an auspicious and holy atmosphere. It has been demanded that a government holiday should be announced for this. It is expected that a positive decision will be taken in this regard.”

Landge further said that a request has been sent to the Chief Minister of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde in this regard. It has been said that the arrival of Lord Ram at Ayodhya will be of great celebration and a historic day for Indians. Keeping in mind the public sentiment of the citizens, the state government should declare a public holiday on January 22 and declare this day as a festival day.

Landge further states that Indians had to wait for 500 years for a temple of Lord Ram which is a symbol of Hinduism, culture and identity of a single India. The dream of generations has now come true. A magnificent Lord Ram temple is being constructed in Ayodhya. Many people had fought a lot for the construction of the temple, and the results of that struggle are visible.
