Rashmi Shukla Reappointed As Maharashtra DGP
MUMBAI, NOVEMBER 26, 2024 — IPS officer Rashmi Shukla has been reappointed as the Director General of Police (DGP) of Maharashtra, following the completion of the election period. The state home department issued an official order late Monday, confirming her return to the position.
Shukla had been sent on leave during the election period as per Election Commission directives, with Sanjay Kumar Verma serving as the interim DGP. Shukla, who is known for her good rapport with BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis, is expected to take charge of her office on Tuesday. Verma will resume his previous role as DG Legal and Technical.
