Reckless Drunk Driver Causes Chaos in Wadachi Wadi

Pune: A harrowing incident unfolded as a heavily intoxicated driver collided with two parked cars in Undri, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake. Miraculously, no injuries were reported as a result of this reckless act.
The sheer force of the impact was so immense that it sent one of the victim’s cars hurtling two meters from its original parking position, astonishingly without causing any casualties. The complainant, identified as Kanishka Basak, became the unfortunate witness to this nightmarish incident that occurred on the evening of November 2, 2023.
The alleged perpetrator, Pritam Anurag Kumar, swiftly fled the scene, leaving behind a scene of chaos and property damage. Basak, determined to seek justice, promptly reported the incident to the Kondhwa police, setting the wheels of justice in motion.
Based on the First Information Report (FIR) obtained by Pune Pulse, the incident unfolded around 11:30 p.m. that fateful Thursday. A loud crash from outside alerted the complainant, who hurried out to investigate. To their astonishment, they found Kumar standing near their mangled vehicle, which had been significantly damaged in the collision.
In response to the inquiry about the events that transpired, Kumar claimed that excessive speed and an attempt to avoid a pothole had led to the unfortunate collision with the complainant’s vehicle. Wasting no time, Basak dialed the Kondhwa police, who swiftly apprehended the accused.
A case has been formally lodged at the Kondhwa Police Station, citing violations under Sections 279 and 427 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) as well as Sections 119, 177, and 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
The investigation is currently underway to ensure that justice is served and to prevent such reckless incidents from recurring.
