Residents of Planet Millennium society hold a meeting on safety amid increasing crime incidents

Residents of Planet Millennium society in Pimple Saudagar went into deep shock when 9 house theft incidents took place during Diwali. The residents were clueless as the burglary incidents left them stumped. In order to bring more safety and find out the loopholes in security measures, the residents recently invited senior police officials from Pimpri Chinchwad Police department to survey the area and also to know various ways to tighten the security.

Vice chairman of the society, Adv Geetanjali Kadate while speaking to Pune Pulse said, “Nine house thefts left us all in shock as it happened during the peak Diwali period. In order to remove the loopholes and strengthen security we invited senior police officials to our society who gave us umpteen solutions to make our society more secure. I feel in such incidents, societies should not lose hope but keep faith in the judiciary and rethink many ways to secure themselves. We are happy that we made the choice of inviting the police officials who have given us many solutions. “

The meeting was attended by secretary P T Rajan, treasurer Vishwanathan, Dalvi Varghese, Sudhir Jaiswal, Chinnawar, and Vishal Bafna who co-ordinated it.

Machhindra Pandit, senior Police Inspector, Crime branch, United 4 said, “Several ways of securing the society were informed to the members. Such as installing CCTVs, securing the compound wall with barbed wires, using good quality locks, deploying well trained security personnel, keeping double check on the security personnel, etc and many other ways are there to secure yourself.”
