Restauranteurs welcome relaxations in Covid19 curbs

Restaurant owners and traders association had recently held protests to urge the administration to allow businesses to operate for longer duration

Traders Association, Restaurants owners association in Pune held several protests in the last few months urging the district administration as well as the state government to allow the businesses to run for longer duration. Lockdown and curbs made the survival of the hotels, bars difficult, many of them had to forcefully shut down forever.


Today, in the weekly review meeting deputy chief minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar announced that the restrictions in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad jurisdiction have been relaxed and shops, malls, restaurants can remain open for longer duration. Restauranteurs and Trader Associations recently held a protest to bring to the attention of the government to allow business to operate for longer period. 


United Hospitality Association, President, Lovely Narang said in coordination with the Federation of Trade Association Pune we were following up with the governments for relaxation of norms as Covid cases had reduced considerably in Pune district. After our dharnas and protest and ghantanaad the government has finally awaken and agreed to our demands. We thank the Chief Minister Udhav Thakrey, the deputy CM and guardian minister Ajit Pawar for understanding the problems. 


Samir Shetty, the treasurer, United Hospitality Association said, “We thank all our committee members who stood with us during the protest times and fought with shoulder to shoulder with us. Their support was the most important part of the fight. I now request the members to follow all Covid protocols while operating their business.”

Mahua Narayan the spokesperson of UHA said that this was long overdue for Pune district, as the covid numbers have reduced considerably and the situation is absolutely In control. Pune district Maval and Mulshi taluka should be opened in as these talukas also have very few Covid cases. 
Rahul Ramnath senior member of the association said that the restaurants and the traders have suffered the most in the lockdown and I thank Fattechand Ranka the president of FTAP who took the lead in heading the protest right from the front with the FTAP Pune his guidance and leadership was of utmost importance in achieving this task.
