Rotary Near Pune Airport Demolished After Year-Long Citizen Campaign Over Traffic Congestion

A rotary installed by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) near the Pune Airport during the G20 summit, sponsored by Shubh Developers for promotional purposes, has been demolished following persistent complaints from citizens. The structure, created at the request of top state government officials, occupied one lane of the road, leading to severe traffic congestion for airport-bound passengers.
Many travelers reportedly missed flights due to the bottleneck. The Viman Nagar Citizens Forum, led by Convenor Qaneez Sukhrani, spearheaded the campaign against the rotary. After nearly a year of advocacy, PMC, with full support from the Traffic Police, agreed to dismantle the rotary, easing traffic flow to the airport.
