RPF and GRP Team Jointly Nabs Two Accused With 20 Stolen Mobile Phones Worth ₹1.90 Lakh
Pune, 4 September 2025: In a major breakthrough, a joint team of Railway Protection Force (RPF) CPDS/Pune and Government Railway Police (GRP) Pune apprehended two accused persons in connection with mobile phone thefts at Pune Railway Station. The operation led to the recovery of 20 stolen mobile phones valued at ₹1,90,401/-.
On 2nd September 2025, reliable inputs indicated that the accused persons involved in the theft of a passenger’s mobile phone from GS Coach of Train No. 12149 (Pune–Danapur Express) dated 30.06.2025, were present at the four-wheeler parking area of Pune Railway Station.
Acting swiftly, the joint team laid a trap at the location. On spotting the police, the suspects attempted to flee, but alert team members chased and apprehended them. The arrested individuals were identified as:
1. Buddhraj Morpal Bagdi (32 years), resident of Diloda, District Baran (Rajasthan), currently residing at Mangalwar Peth, Pune.
2. Amarlal Hansraj Bagdi (22 years), resident of Bada ka Balaji, District Baran (Rajasthan), currently residing at Mangalwar Peth, Pune.
On interrogation and search, 20 stolen mobile phones valued at ₹1,90,401/- were recovered from a sack bag carried by the first accused. Both admitted to having stolen mobile phones in running trains as well as at Pune Railway Station on previous occasions.
GRP Pune has registered the case in CR No. 363/2025 U/s 303(2), 3(5) BNS dated 02.09.2025 regarding the theft of a Vivo mobile phone worth ₹15,000/-. Investigation regarding other seized mobile phones is currently in progress.
The timely and coordinated action of the RPF and GRP teams has once again ensured passenger safety and security at Pune Division.
