The Regional Transport Office (RTO) Pune has taken strict action against 82 school vehicles such as buses, vans etc as a part of it’s special drive to inspect & eliminate illegal vehicles.

As per information from RTO Pune, a total of 82 vehicles were taken into account in the school bus inspections carried out by the Regional Transport Office. All these vehicles were found transporting school students without license. A total of 8 teams were working in this campaign.

Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector, Motor Vehicle Inspector and Assistant Regional Transport Officers Yuvraj Patil and Amar Desai participated in this. In view of the safe transportation of students, all parents are requested to ensure that the vehicle in question has a school bus license while sending their child to school and only then send their child to school in that vehicle.

This is a part of the citywide vehicle inspection drive started by RTO from September 1st.

The decision was taken after the officials found that some non-registered vehicles were being used for transporting kids to school. In addition, the vehicles were also found to be carrying more students than the permissible number. The RTO had received several complaints about non-registered vehicles in the past few days.

The officials of the RTO have warned the vehicle owners to adhere to the rules and get their vehicle’s fitness certificate before utilizing it to transport students. They also warned of taking action against vehicles found violating the rules.
