Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, father of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, encountered a disturbing threat during his routine morning walk in Bandra, Mumbai. This incident took place on September 19. The incident has raised fresh security concerns for the Khan family, which has previously been the target of threats from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang.
While Salim Khan was enjoying his peaceful morning walk, a man on a scooter, accompanied by a burqa-clad woman, stopped in front of him and issued a chilling message. Referring to jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, the man allegedly threatened Salim Khan, saying, “Lawrence Bishnoi ko bheju kya?” (Should I call Lawrence Bishnoi?).
This alarming interaction took place at Carter Road, a popular promenade where Salim Khan often relaxes post his walk. Security personnel present with Salim Khan quickly noted the registration number of the scooter, aiding the police in tracing the duo.
The Bandra police swiftly registered a case following a complaint lodged by Salim Khan’s bodyguard. Within hours, authorities arrested both the man and his female accomplice. Initial reports suggest the pair claimed the threat was a prank, but given the Khan family’s history with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, law enforcement is taking the incident seriously. The police are currently investigating potential motives and whether there is any deeper connection to Bishnoi’s gang.
Salman Khan has been a frequent target of threats from Lawrence Bishnoi, a notorious gangster currently imprisoned. Bishnoi had earlier threatened to kill Salman Khan over his involvement in the blackbuck poaching case. In April, unidentified assailants fired at Salman Khan’s Bandra residence and Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother, Anmol Bishnoi, took responsibility for the attack. The gangster’s vendetta against Salman Khan has made security a paramount concern for the family.
In light of this latest incident, authorities are expected to ramp up security for the Khan family, who have faced numerous threats over the past few years. The arrest of the suspects has brought some relief, but with Bishnoi’s name resurfacing, the family’s protection remains a top priority for the Mumbai police.
