Save the Sparrows! Roseland Residency Distributes Nest Boxes and Bird Feeders Across 30 Societies
Pimple Saudagar, March 15: In an effort to restore ecological balance and provide a safe habitat for sparrows, Roseland Residency in Pimple Saudagar celebrated World Sparrow Day with enthusiasm. As part of the Save the Sparrows initiative, artificial nest boxes and bird feeders were distributed across 30 residential societies in the Pimpri-Chinchwad area.
A Step Towards Sparrow Conservation
With rapid urbanization and diminishing green spaces, sparrow populations have been declining significantly. To counter this, residents of Roseland Residency organized a campaign to create awareness and encourage people to take action for sparrow conservation.
Former corporators Nana Kate and Shatrughan Kate and Nirmala Kute, Society Representative Chandan Chaurasia, Vinod Patil, and Sandeep Thenge (President), Vikram Shinde (Vice President), Surendra Jain, Dhaval Prajapati, and singer Deepal Dave, were present at the event.

Artificial Nests: A Safe Haven for Sparrows
Speaking at the event, sparrow conservationist Chandan Chaurasia explained,
“The artificial nests we are distributing are designed specifically for sparrows, keeping their natural habitat and needs in mind. These nests help them feel secure and encourage nesting, which will contribute to increasing their population.”
Sandeep Thenge emphasized the importance of community participation, stating,
“If we build nests for sparrow chicks today, we are securing their future. As cities expand, sparrows are disappearing, but we can reverse this trend by providing them with safe spaces to live and food to sustain them. Saving the sparrows means saving our environment.”
Former corporators Nana Kate and Shatrughan Kate also shared their views on the importance of conservation efforts.
