Following violent clashes in Nagpur, Maharashtra, Pune police have intensified security measures to prevent any potential disturbances. Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar and Joint Commissioner Ranjankumar Sharma have instructed officers to remain alert and ensure law and order across the city.

The unrest in Nagpur on Monday night saw incidents of arson and stone-pelting, with vehicles and residential properties set ablaze. CCTV cameras were damaged, and multiple two-wheelers were torched, escalating tensions in the area.

In response, Pune police have increased patrolling in sensitive locations and set up additional checkpoints, particularly near religious sites. A unit of the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) has also been deployed as a precautionary measure. Officials have assured that the situation in Pune remains under control.

Authorities have urged citizens to avoid spreading or believing rumors and to report any suspicious activity immediately. A high-level meeting is scheduled for Tuesday to assess the security situation and decide on further preventive measures.
