Pune, 18 March: A family from Wagholi had an unpleasant experience on Tuesday morning after they found an insect in their breakfast sambar. The food was ordered at a well-known idli outlet in Wagholi.

The woman, who brought the breakfast home for her family, said they had no complaints at first. However, things changed when they sat down to eat. “My husband was having his breakfast when he suddenly stopped. He saw something in the sambar and kept staring at it,” she said. At first, he could not believe what he was seeing. “Then he called me to come and check if it was really an insect,” she added.

On closer look, they found it was indeed an insect. Shocked by the discovery, they decided not to take the issue lightly. “I thought I should spread the word to caution others,” the woman said. Her husband, however, had warned earlier that such things could happen in unhygienic places. “Better avoid eating out at such places,” he had suggested.

The family contacted the customer care. In response, they received a message saying, “Sorry for your inconvenience ma’am. We will check with the franchise. We will take care. It will not happen again.”

Despite the apology, the family remains cautious. They have now decided to avoid eating from places where hygiene is a concern.

Food safety experts advise customers to be alert and report such incidents. They also stress the need for restaurants to maintain strict hygiene to avoid health risks.

The incident has sparked concern among other residents in the area.
