This interruption is scheduled between 12:20 IST and 15:20 IST on April 1 due to annual closing activity indicating a temporary suspension of online banking facilities during this period. However, during this period, customers can still access UPI Lite and ATMs for their banking needs. The facility is expected to resume on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.

Additional Notifications:

Furthermore, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has issued a notification stating that the exchange and deposit of Rs 2,000 banknotes will not be available at the 19 issue offices on April 1.

In addition to SBI, HDFC Bank has also alerted its customers about the inaccessibility of National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT) operations on April 1, 2024. While customers who can access the service may experience some delay, it’s important to note that most banks in many states will be closed on this day due to the closing of their year accounts, as per RBI guidelines.

As per RBI guidelines, banks in numerous states including Agartala, Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Dehradun, Guwahati, Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana), Imphal, Itanagar, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kochi, Kohima, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Panaji, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Srinagar, and Thiruvananthapuram will remain closed on April 1 for the closing of their year accounts.

Customers are advised to plan their banking activities accordingly, considering the temporary service disruptions and bank closures on April 1. While alternative channels like UPI Lite and ATMs are available during the specified downtime, it’s essential to stay informed about the latest updates from respective banks and regulatory authorities to minimize inconvenience.
