School holidays in April 2024: List of educational institutes revealed

As the academic year progresses, educational institutes across the country are gearing up for a series of scheduled holidays in April 2024. With the final exams drawing to a close, students and teachers alike are preparing for a well-deserved break before the commencement of the new session. However, this month also brings forth several holidays due to local festivals, leading to closures in numerous schools.

According to the academic calendar, April is marked by various festivals and observances, resulting in designated days off for educational institutions. One notable event is Eid-ul-Fitr, which is expected to fall on April 11, although this date may shift to April 12 depending on the sighting of the moon. Should the festival extend to April 12, students can anticipate an extended weekend from April 12 to April 14.

In addition to Eid-ul-Fitr, schools will also remain closed on April 7 and 28, both of which fall on Sundays. Moreover, April 14 will observe Ambedkar Jayanti, and April 21 will commemorate Mahavir Jayanti, further contributing to the list of holidays in the month.

While students eagerly await their board exam results, the Uttar Pradesh board is poised to release its results imminently, having completed the evaluation process. Meanwhile, the CBSE class 12 board exams are set to conclude by April 2, with the JEE Main 2024 session 2, an engineering entrance exam, scheduled from April 4 to April 15.

Looking ahead, schools in various states are preparing for summer vacations scheduled for May. In Delhi, for instance, summer vacation will begin on May 11 and continue until June 30, with teachers continuing their work until June 28-30. Similarly, schools in Uttar Pradesh are gearing up for an extended summer break lasting 41 days, starting from May 21 and ending on June 30.
