Senior citizens of Kunal Icon society walk the ramp on women’s day
Pimple Saudagar: Kunal Icon society in Pimple Saudagar celebrated International Women’s Day in a unique way this year. The society organised a fashion show for old ladies, with a retro theme. The event was judged by Rupali Pathare, a Marathi cinema actress, and Mugdha Deshpande, a model.
According to the organisers, this was the first time such an event was held in the society and it was a huge success. A total of 27 old ladies participated in the fashion show and two ladies, aged 86, walked the ramp without their usual walking sticks.
Sayali Surve, one of the organisers, said, “This was the first time we arranged such an event and the old ladies were happy to be part of it. In fact, many were happy that for the first time they had got a chance of getting makeup done by beauticians and they said that they never had got such a chance during their wedding or their children’s wedding. Women of every community enthusiastically participated.”
The event brought joy to many of the participants and it was heartening to see them enjoy themselves on the ramp. The judges were impressed by the participants’ confidence and elegance.
