Pune: Shiv Sena in Pune recently submitted a written request to the Police Commissioner Ritesh Kumar, urging him to take action against illegally run rooftop hotels and bars in Pune city. The party claims that these establishments are causing inconvenience to the residents of the surrounding areas.

According to the party’s statement, there are open terrace pubs and hotels in Pune that operate past the legally permissible time of 10 pm. These establishments reportedly play loud music and allow dancing, causing trouble for the elderly citizens of the area.

The party also cites a Supreme Court ban on speakers and DJs in commercial and public places after 10 pm, which is allegedly being violated by these rooftop establishments. Additionally, the party expresses concern about the increasing drug consumption in Pune city, particularly among the students who come to study in the various colleges located there.

“We believe that it is our duty to keep the coming generation free from all these addictions,” the party said in its statement. “We should take care that this shock does not reach the culture of Pune.”

The Shiv Sena party has urged the Police Commissioner to investigate the matter thoroughly and take legal action against the culprits as soon as possible. The party hopes that this will help curb the growing drug consumption in Pune and preserve the city’s cultural values.

Pramod Nana Bhangire, Pune city president of Shiv Sena said, “The reason to meet the Commissioner is that the rooftop restaurants are violating rules and even after 10 play loud music. Not only this but it has bad effect on people, even at places the drugs are supplied.”
