Two young men were apprehended, and three police officers were placed on suspension following a distressing incident. A teenage girl suffered severe injuries when she was forcibly pushed onto a railway track while resisting a molestation attempt in the CB Ganj area of Bareilly district. The incident prompted immediate action from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who directed the district administration to provide the injured girl with financial assistance of five lakh rupees and ensure that the culprits, as well as the implicated police officers, face stringent consequences.

According to police sources, the 17-year-old girl was pushed onto the railway track by two young men as she was returning from a coaching institute. She had bravely protested against their molestation attempt. Tragically, she was struck by a passing train, resulting in the amputation of her legs and her right hand. The girl was transported to a private hospital, where she remained in a serious condition.

This heinous incident was not an isolated one. It was revealed that the girl had been subjected to molestation by the accused individuals for an extended period. The victim’s family had previously lodged a complaint with the accused’s relatives, but the harassment persisted. They even sought help from the police, but no action had been taken against the culprits.

Following Chief Minister Adityanath’s intervention, District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar and Senior Superintendent of Police Ghule Sushil Chandrabhan visited the hospital to inquire about the victim’s condition. Subsequently, the girl was transferred to a medical college for further treatment. The District Magistrate assured that a report had been filed based on the victim’s family’s complaint and emphasized that stringent measures would be taken against the perpetrators. Additionally, three police officers, including the Inspector of CB Ganj police station, Inspector Ashok Kamboj, Beat In-Charge Nitin Sharma, and Constable Horilal Nigam, were suspended for their perceived negligence in handling the case.

Furthermore, police sources confirmed the arrest of two individuals, one of whom is identified as Vijay, on charges related to the incident. The administration pledged to cover the costs of the victim’s medical treatment.
