A terrible incident has come to light on Pune airport as a woman passenger was molested while boarding a Pune-Bengaluru Indigo flight. In this regard, a case has been registered against a male passenger at Vimantal Police Station.
Speaking to Pune Pulse, Vilas Sonde, Police Inspector, Vimantal Police Station, said “The incident happened on October 21st. A young woman was boarding an Indigo Airlines flight from Pune to Bangalore on Pune Airport. While standing in the boarding pass queue, a male passenger (accused) was standing behind her. After boarding pass inspection was done, when all passengers were going from the aisle way/tunnel to enter the flight, the accused started touching her inappropriately from behind & began molesting her. The woman has filed a case of molestation against the male passenger yesterday (27th October).”
As per further information shared by Vilas Sonde, a case has been registered against the accused at Vimantal Police Station under Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Further investigation in the matter is going on.
