Amit Chansikar, a Digital Marketer had booked an OYO room under Make My Trip at Bengaluru. On his arrival at the site, he found out the hotel was under renovation and no staff member was present over there to address his confusion.
To add to his frustration, the refund he received was not complete as booking charges had been cut.
He slammed both OYO and Make My Trip by tweeting on X (formerly Twitter). His tweet said, “Scam alert in Bengaluru. Just came to find out that the hotel I had booked was under renovation. There was not a living soul here. This is tantamount to cheating! After wasting two hours here they cut money from my refund! Shame on you.”
On this tweet going viral, both Make My Trip OYO responded to the same.
OYO apologized by saying, “Hi, we apologize for the inconvenience caused. We believe our team has already connected with you with a resolution and has already done the needful. Also have requested you to get in touch with MMT (Make My trip) for further assistance.
Whereas, Make My Trip said, ” Hi Amit, we are truly apologetic for the experience you had with us. Our endeavor has always been to provide the best experience to our customers. As per our telephone conversation, the refund is processed in the same mode of payment. Kindly check the refund details.”
He recently updated by saying, ” I have received a refund of Rs. 3141 which is more than the booking amount of Rs. 3060.”
