Shocking rise in women crime cases in Maharashtra; Pune on 4th spot : NCRB data

Pune : In the state of Maharashtra, there is an alarming rise in the number of crimes happening against women as over 45,000 crime cases against women have taken place in 2022. Shockingly, Pune ranks 4th in the list with over 2,000 cases.The crime rate against women in Maharashtra has risen in 2022 compared to 2021 as 39,526 crime cases against women were seen in Maharashtra in 2021.
Hence, Maharashtra has seen nearly 6,000 more cases in 2022 compared to 2021.As per further information from the data of the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), in 2022, the most number of crime cases against women in Maharashtra took place in Mumbai with 6,176 cases; followed by Ahmednagar with 2,202 cases;
Thane ranks 3rd with 2,341 cases and Pune is on number 4 with 2,074 crime cases registered against women in 2022.Statewise, Maharashtra is in second place in terms of crime against women with 45,331 cases in 2022.
Uttar Pradesh has seen the most number of crimes against women with 65,743 cases & Rajasthan at number 3 with 45,058 cases
