Siddharth Shirole draws attention to Pune’s increasing crime against women ; demands stringent action

For the past few days, several crime against women are being reported making it unsafe for many women. 
Member of Legislative Assembly Shivaji Nagar constituency Siddharth Shirole took up the matter with the minister for state home affairs and asked him to take stringent action to ensure safety of women is given priority. 

MLA Shirole explained the series of incidents of last crime cases in the Assembly on Tuesday. 

He pointed that, “The rising crime rate in the Bopodi-Khadki, shoplifting in Khadki, rape of a 12-year-old girl in Parvati on March 17, robbery of a young couple on a hill top of Pashan area on March 18 and many others were taken up Shirole in the assembly. The terror spread by the goons has made the city unsafe for many. So I demanded that the Maharashtra state government should take action on such serious cases on an immediate basis.”

A meeting of the people’s representatives and police officers in Pune will be held soon. Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil, while replying to MLA Shirole’s question, assured that a permanent solution would be worked out to curb crime.
