Signages in Braille installed at Pune railway station

Central Railway’s Pune Division has installed 10 signages in Braille. The facility was installed for the differently abled (visually impaired travellers) to easily locate the facilities available at the railway station. Signages are installed at Foot Over Bridge, Booking / Reservation office, waiitng hall, station master’s office, cloak room, washrooms, platform railing and many other prominent places.

At the entrance of the station, layout of the station in Braille Lipi is installed, wherein the visually impaired travellers can get complete information regarding the railway station. The facility of scanning is available for deaf and dumb travellers, where in a video shall be played which will give instructions for commuting. Illuminating strips have been laid on the staircases, which will benefit the visually impaired, as well as facility of portable ramp and wheel chair are available at the station. All these facilities have been initiated under the project Anuprayas, led by Divisional Railway Manager Renu Sharma, station director Suresh Chandra Jain. With the above facilities Pune Railway station becomes third in Central Railway and sixteenth in the Indian Railway list of best railway station.
