In a convergence of significant milestones, the Indian Society of Neuroanaesthesiology and Critical Care (ISNACC) celebrated its Silver Jubilee Conference from 16 – 18 February 2024, at the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune.

Organized by the Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care, this momentous event coincided with the Platinum Jubilee year of AFMC.

Founded in 1999, ISNACC has been a beacon of excellence in the field of neuroanaesthesia and neurocritical care. The Silver Jubilee Conference marked a significant milestone in the society’s journey, highlighting its commitment to innovation, collaboration and the continuous pursuit of knowledge.

ISNACC 2024 was inaugurated by Lt Gen Narendra Kotwal, AVSM, SM, VSM, Director and Commandant, AFMC and Maj Gen D Vivekanand, SM, Dean and Deputy Commandant AFMC.

A special cover symbolizing the silver jubilee conference of ISNACC was also released in the presence of Mr Ramchandra Jayabhaye, Postmaster General, Pune region. The conference featured a diverse range of workshops and hands-on training sessions, covering critical topics that are at the forefront of neuroanaesthesia and critical care.

Participants engaged in interactive sessions focusing on simulation for neuro-emergencies, neuromodulation and chronic pain, paediatric airway management, advanced haemodynamic monitoring, stroke, and smart research practices. These workshops aimed to provide practical insights and enhance the skills of healthcare professionals, offering a unique opportunity for experiential learning.

A noteworthy component of the conference was a special Continuing Medical Education (CME) session on the Management of a Brain-Dead Patient for Organ Donations ā€“ with a broader aim of enhancing physicians’ comprehension regarding the altruistic practice of organ donation.

The organising committee spearheaded by Maj Gen Subrato Sen, SM (Organising Chairman), Brig Rahul Yadav (Organising Secretary) and Col Shamik Paul (Organising Co- Secretary) strived hard to ensure an academic extravaganza for the distinguished delegates.

The conference hosted approximately 500 delegates, bringing together a diverse group of healthcare professionals, researchers and experts in Neuroanaesthesia and Neurocritical care. Esteemed national and international faculty presented talks on the latest advances in neurosciences, contributing to an exhaustive scientific program that covers a wide array of subjects. Feedback received from the conference delegates stated that these sessions were intellectually stimulating, and provided attendees with a comprehensive overview of the latest developments in the field.

In a laudable move towards environmental responsibility, the conference organizers undertook a noble plantation drive to commemorate the Silver Jubilee.

ISNACC, in collaboration with AFMC, sponsored and planted more than 100 saplings at the newly inaugurated Platinum Jubilee Park of AFMC. This initiative underscored a commitment to sustainable practices and environmental stewardship, aligning with the broader goals of responsible citizenship.
