Singhad Institute in Pune : Founder booked in PF scam
Pune: Maruti Navale, founder of the well-known Singhad Institute in Pune, is now facing charges of embezzlement in the Provident Fund scam investigation.
Navale, whose Singhad City School in Kondhwa has employed more than a dozen staff, allegedly diverted millions of rupees meant for PF contributions from over 2019 to 2022.
It is alleged that Navale did not deposit the deducted amount into the PF accounts but instead misused it for personal gains.
The PF department initiated a probe after complaints from its future fund inspector, leading to the filing of a case at the Kondhwa Police Station against Maruti Navale.
Maruti Navale is associated with several educational institutions, and Singhad City School in Kondhwa is one of them. During the period in question, more than 12 employees of the school had their PF contributions, totaling lakhs of rupees, allegedly diverted by Navale for personal use.
The total amount embezzled by Maruti Navale from the employees’ salaries was reported to be around Rs 74 lakhs. However, he did not deposit this amount into the provident fund accounts, allegedly using it for his own benefit.
In connection with this case, the Kondhwa Police have registered a case against Maruti Navale, and investigations are underway. The inspection of Singhad City School took place on July 5, 2022, where the school’s accountant was asked to submit all relevant documents, including salary sheets, bank details, commercial taxes, balance sheets, and other papers.
