In a shocking revelation, the owner of a popular samosa shop in Vadodara, Gujarat, along with five others, has been arrested for selling samosas stuffed with cow meat to unsuspecting customers. The shop, known as ‘Hussaini Samosa’, was raided by the police following a tip-off, resulting in the seizure of a significant amount of samosa stuffing containing beef ingredients.

Panna Momaya, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (zone 4), stated that the seized stuffing was subjected to Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) tests, which confirmed the presence of cow meat. The accused, identified as Yusuf Sheikh, Naeem Sheikh, Hanif Bhathiyara, Dilawar Pathan, Moin Habdal, and Mobin Sheikh, were subsequently booked and arrested.

It was revealed that the accused operated from a five-storey building, utilizing one of the rooms as a deep freezer for storing beef and meat. Despite lacking a license to operate the shop, the owners mass-produced uncooked samosas daily, distributing them to various shops across the city for frying and sale as meat samosas.

During interrogation, Yusuf Sheikh admitted to preferring cow meat due to its lower cost compared to buffalo or goat meat, resulting in higher profits. Investigations are underway to determine the source of the beef and the duration of the illegal activity. The accused have been remanded in police custody for further inquiry and legal proceedings.
